The Find A Way Foundation of California was formed in 2006 when founder, Steffany Lohn, identified a need for increased disability awareness and inclusion opportunities for people who are differently-abled.
Two ideas were born: Café Inclusion, a social enterprise providing hands-on culinary training and employment opportunities to those with developmental and physical disabilities, and Our Place, an interactive museum where children of all abilities can come together through interactive, educational play.
Identified A Need for Inclusion
Steffany Lohn, founder and CEO of Find A Way, has been working with the organization since its start in 2006. Lohn administers the organization, works with sponsors to help promote the facility, and coordinates grant funding efforts to bring Find A Way's programs to the community.
Along with a strong administration background, Lohn injects strength, vision and passion into her role -- as her own son, Tyler, has autism.
The Founder's Story and Background
The impetus for forming Find A Way began with observing the needs of her own son, Tyler, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 21 months. Lohn explains:

"Even though I had expected the diagnosis, all I could think when I looked at my son was what kind of life will he have now? As a special needs family, we often feel isolated from the rest of the world, limited in what we are able to do and experience." read more>> |
